Samford University’s Orlean Beeson School of Education invites individuals interested in serving in a Christian university environment to
apply for an instructor position in the Department of Teacher Education, beginning August 2024 This non-tenure-track, full time faculty
position is a 9-month appointment.
Qualified candidates will hold at least a master’s degree in elementary education from an
institutionally accredited university (or equivalent). Teaching experience in P-6 school setting is required. Experience teaching math in an
elementary setting and teaching and/or supervising in a college or university setting preferred. Generalist teaching and supervision
responsibilities will be in teacher preparation. The successful applicant will be expected to assume responsibilities in school partnership
endeavors, support CAEP assessment processes, and participate in various service activities in the department, school and larger university
community.
The department currently includes nine full-time faculty members, offers undergraduate degrees in elementary education,
elementary-early childhood-special education, and secondary education, along with alternative master’s degrees in elementary,
secondary, and special education.
