Position Summary or Faculty Qualifications
The Clinical Assistant Professor is a renewable full-time non-tenure-track faculty position carrying a 4/4 teaching load with administrative release time. Courses to be taught will be in the teacher preparation programs adhering to the teacher certification requirements of the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE).
The Clinical Assistant Professor will also serve as the Program Director for graduate programs in the Department of Teacher Education, overseeing the program design and policies relevant to certification and non-certification graduate programs. The Program Director will work closely with the Graduate Office, Department Chair, Assistant Dean, and Director of Clinical Experiences, as well as faculty, advisors, staff, and external stakeholders to ensure the design and implementation of a curriculum that leads to student success and in compliance with external regulations and the standards of the profession.
The successful candidate may also have the opportunity to teach in the SJU-HNU (China) partnership graduate PK4 program. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is strongly interested in building and fostering connections in the area of teacher preparation, international collaborations, and advancing the University’s academic quality in the preparation of teachers and school leaders. The successful candidate will be able to begin the position on August 15, 2023.
