Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Teaching Portfolio Coach for the Rutgers Graduate School of Education.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Reviews teacher portfolios from Alternate Route Program candidates.
- Scores documents and provides constructive feedback to help the candidates prepare a complete professional portfolio demonstrating their teaching competency.

FLSA: Nonexempt
Position Salary: $25.00/hour
Payroll Designation: PeopleSoft
Terms of Appointment: Temporary Staff Appointment – Hourly
Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- 3 years of recent/current experience as a teacher in the K12 setting.
Certifications/Licenses
- NJ Standard Teaching Certification in Elementary Education (Grades K-6), Special Education and/or Secondary Content Area Education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Greater than 3 years of recent/current experience as a teacher in the K12 setting.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrated record of supporting/mentoring the development of novice teachers.
- Proficiency using technology for online communication and coaching.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Extremely high aptitude for attention to detail.
Equipment Utilized
- Competency using Microsoft Office Applications and/or Cloud based word processing applications.
- Experience with Course Management Systems, i.e. Canvas, Sakai, Blackboard.
