POSITION RANK: Associate Professor or Full Professor (rank commensurate with academic achievement)
The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Health at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School (NJMS), is seeking a board certified academic specialist in general obstetrics and gynecology at the level of Associate Professor or higher to lead the Generalist OB/GYN Division. Academic appointment will be commensurate with experience and accomplishments. The faculty is highly involved in the education of residents, medical students, health related professionals, and other ancillary personnel in the Department.
Duties and Responsibilities: In partnership with the Chair of the Department of OB/GYN, the Division Director will be responsible for (1) Faculty development; Budgeting and productivity oversight;
(2)Support of research interests in the Division; (3) Support of education in the Division; (4)Development and maintenance of policies, protocols and guidelines for ambulatory care that meet the goals of the department as well as hospital regulatory and quality requirements; (5) Development of process improvement projects to meet quality goals; (6) Development and fostering of a patient-centered approach to care that optimizes the patient experience while enhancing professional development; (7) Creating new ways of delivering care that maximize health outcomes by enhancing access to high quality care; (8) Integrating the OB/GYN generalist division into the larger mission and system of care of Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and University Hospital, NJ’s only public hospital.
To qualify, the candidate must be board certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology, have five years of leadership experience as well as a minimum of eight years at an academic setting. In addition to clinical duties, the successful candidate will be responsible for lectures, didactic clinical instruction for residents, fellows, NJMS medical students and, if needed, dedicated research time.
