This position will report to the Head of Strategy. This role will entail providing support to Apogem’s Senior Leadership Team to help define business strategy and support the execution of strategic initiatives, business planning, and project management across private equity and private credit businesses. This position requires experience in asset management with exposure to technology, operations and data strategies within the alternatives investment sector, a strategic mindset, financial modeling capabilities and the ability to work collaboratively across business functions.Key areas of responsibility Strategy DevelopmentUnderstand the business direction, its needs, and help develop pragmatic solutions / roadmaps; Perform business impact assessments, develop financial models for cost benefit analysis and design recommendationsAnalyze market insights in the alternatives investment sector and competitor information to identify trends, product gaps and opportunities for growthDevelop and maintain perspective on strategic implications of key developments in the industry – new products, competitor actions, regulatory changes etc. Strategy ExecutionWork with Apogem’s front, middle and back-office leaders to execute selected cross-functional strategic initiatives (e.g., buy-side / hybrid work culture enhancement strategy, fund administrator selection, investment and client data centralization strategy)Assist with developing, managing, and tracking of delivery milestones / key metrics for integration projects and communicate risks for senior leadership considerationManage and plan business activities and resources required to deliver strategic solutions, including defining business requirements and ensuring key stakeholders are managing cross-functional dependencies, timelines, and execution milestonesStrategy CommunicationAssist with articulation of Apogem’s strategy and ensure all business growth and integration initiatives are appropriately communicated across the firm and NYLIMCoordinate and prepare presentations for town hall meetings, Board meetings, senior management, external parties, etc.An ideal candidate will demonstrateIntellectual curiosity, self-awareness, and the willingness to learn and hit the ground runningSelf-starter, independent thinker and pro-active with a keen sense of ownership and commitment to the work, and a passion to deliver resultsAbility to play different roles depending on the project requirement; Leader, coach, and individual contributor as needed Team player that can accept substantial individual responsibility and proactively create value for the team and others Passionate about exploring and understanding financial markets and the alternatives investment management industry A desire to work in a high-energy environment with a dedicated commitment to excellence and teamworkQualificationsBachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred with a strong record of academic achievement Minimum of 5-6 years of overall experience, 3+ years in top-tier asset management, management consulting and/or investment banking firmGood understanding of the asset management industry, products, regulatory guidelines, and headwinds impacting the alternatives investment sectorStrong problem-solving and analytical skills; strategic and creative thinking aptitude Attention to detail and strong project management skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously with consistent follow-throughComfort dealing with ambiguity in a dynamic and fast-moving work environment with tight deadlines and multiple demandsAbility to clearly articulate ideas, both written and oral, to internal and external audiences across various levels of seniorityRequires strong leadership and communication skills, with an ability to partner effectively across multiple functions and levels of management Personally, and professionally aligned with Apogem’s culture and values, and a strong interest in asset management industryAdvanced user of PowerPoint, Excel, and Word and skilled at financial modeling / data analytics to develop CBAs, cost-to-achieve / cost-to-operate models, business reports and presentationsWilling to travel 10-15% of time range: $155,000-$190,000Overtime eligible:ExemptDiscretionary bonus eligible:YesSales bonus eligible:NoClick here to learn more about our benefits.
