Job Summary
To be responsible for analysis and interpretation of financial information pertaining to hospital operations and impact of business changes within the industry. To represent the primary financial support positions for designated service lines and departments within the hospital. To prepare financial and business related analyses, perform research on business perf0rmance, prepare forecasts and identify trends, variances and key issues in both finance and general business areas. To oversee group assignments for the financial team and manage and disseminate information given to the Dir-Performance & Analytics and executive leaders. To be involved in developing business policies, conducting special financial and business related studies.To work collaboratively with Service Line Directors and members of the Executive Leadership Team on an ongoing basis and on projects as needed. To drive month end closings and analysis, standard year end accounting procedures and the annual budget process. To work closely with the finance and information systems staff to maintain technical competency and data integrity, including the development of business intelligence processes and tools. To advise the business unit director on financial and business matters and to support requests for analysis and information by the business unit staff and leadership to meet deadlines. To lead and manage projects from beginning to end, to concentrate on detailed information for extended periods of time, to communicate effectively, and to manage multiple tasks and projects with distinct and competing deadlines. To chair various finance and operations related teams organized to implement change in the organization.

Job has direct and/or indirect supervision of team members that may include final budget authority, hire/termination authority, performance appraisal responsibility and disciplinary authority. Creates business reviews and tracks performance for initiatives and programs as identified by the Executive team. Gives continued support of the month end process and annual budget planning process. Continues work in developing business policies and processes, conducts special financial and business related studies, in collaboration with service line leaders. Develops new financial reports, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and analysis to mirror changing organizational charts and redesign of both campus and system service lines and leader areas of responsibility. Designs and creates value-added data analysis used by service line Vice Presidents and Directors. Facilitates one on one support of assigned Chief Operating Officer, providing analysis and interpretation of financial information includiing campus and system performance. Continues to oversee group assignments for the financial team and is responsible for compilation and dissemination of data and information to the Dir-Performance & Analytics and the Vice Presidents of Finance. Directs oversight of One Palmetto Initiatives including the financial analysis of all projects, development of KPI methodology, and current and b udget year impact projections. Provides project updates on demand and ensures outcomes are included in financial projections and budget planning. Develops and rolls out the new Capital Planning software including departmental responsibility for the capital processing workflow for all Operations areas, as well as Corporate functions. Continues to review and analyze capital requests, including creation of pro formas for financially material projects. Ensures that subject matter expertise and development work for the Qlikview visual software continues to evolve within the Performance & Analytics department through training and development of all team members as well analysts embedded in operational service lines. Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field . 5 years – Experience in accounting or finance to include experience in financial analysis. Knowledge, Skills or Abilities. Management of funds without signatory authority and/or without authority to give budget approval. Financial analysis skills/knowledge to include revenue cycle, cost accounting, project finance and capital investment. Critical thinking skills with the ability to communicate and advise at the highest levels of leadership. Ability to understand and implement new technology and software including redesigning and operationalizing of workflows for continuous process improvement.
