Planned Systems International, Inc. Looking for VDI Engineer at Blue Ridge Summit, PA  Full Time

Planned Systems International, Inc. (PSI) is seeking a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Engineer for our RRMC ITES contract in Fairfield, PA.

Responsibilities:

• Deploy VMware/VDI infrastructure including engineering, planning, testing, coordinating, and scheduling.
• Implement Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) in an environment with 500+ desktop and VPN users on 3 different networks.
• Participate in and lead aspects of major network installations and upgrades.
• Interface with vendors to ensure resolution during network outages or periods of reduced performance.
• Develop and implement testing strategies and document results.
• Respond to escalated requests for technical assistance.
• Provide advice and training to Tier 2 desktop support, Help Desk, and end-users.
• Respond to Remedy incident and change request tickets to implement standard level changes and troubleshoots/ resolve incidents/problems.
• Maintain current knowledge of relevant hardware and software applications as assigned.
• Participate in special projects as required.
• Develop/Document Techniques, Tactics & Procedures (TTPs) and Disaster Recovery plans.
• Develop and maintain a VDI Knowledge database on SharePoint. Interface with industry and other Government agencies to develop best practices in VDI implementations and deployments.

Qualifications:

Skills include but are not limited to:

• 5 years of prior similar duties and experience or familiarity with virtualization technologies.
• Scripting experience desired (PowerShell/WMI/Shell)
• Strong knowledge and hands on experience with virtualization technologies such as server virtualization (using VMWare ESX/vSphere or Hyper-V) and/or application/desktop virtualization using (VMware View/Horizon)
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft server and workstation operating systems, registry settings, DNS/DHCP, TCP/IP networking, and firewalls
• Experience working with Microsoft Active Directory
• Experience with Microsoft Exchange, SQL, Office Communications Server
• Knowledge of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity best practices
• Experience with SSL VPNs including Cisco ASA, and Juniper solutions
• Knowledge of Cisco UCS and Fabric Interconnects
• Knowledge of large VMWare deployments
• Experience with IBM, Dell, HP, or Nutanix Server Platforms.
