The Staff Physician 2 position provides leadership in planning, directing, and implementing Medical Services at a mental health facility.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you provide medical services for the consumers of Wernersville State Hospital and are responsible for the treatment of physically ill patients and other related medical functions. You provide annual physical and neurological examinations for consumers in an assigned area, identify patients’ medical treatment needs and facilitate their transfer to a community hospital for emergency or non-emergency medical treatment, and you ensure the Psychiatrist and Treatment Team are made aware of patients with medical illnesses and current treatments. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:Three years of experience and/or training in the practice of medicine.Necessary Special Requirements: All positions require possession of an active license to practice medicine in Pennsylvania issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine or Pennsylvania State Board of Osteopathic Medicine.Other Requirements:Legal Requirements:A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.How to Apply:Resumes, cover letters, and similar documents will not be reviewed, and the information contained therein will not be considered for the purposes of determining your eligibility for the position.
