Notre Dame of Maryland University Looking for Director of Operation Teach at Baltimore, MD Full Time

Operation Teach is an innovative two-year post-graduate program offered by Notre Dame of Maryland University. The program seeks to develop a corps of highly committed educators to meet the needs of children in the Baltimore area Catholic elementary and secondary schools. It operates in conjunction with the Archdiocese of Baltimore Catholic Schools and Notre Dame of Maryland University.

The Director of Operation TEACH will be expected to understand the vision and the promise of the program, provide administrative coordination, engage in the strategic planning, oversee recruitment, monitor program progress, facilitate appropriate communication internally among participants and externally to the broader community, and sustain high morale among program participants and supporters.

Essential functions will include but are not limited to:

1. Conducts regular meetings with university and archdiocesan personnel, program participants, professional mentors
2. Maintains awareness of appropriate recruiting opportunities and makes arrangements for the program to be represented at Volunteer Service Fairs
3. Communicates with all applicants, answers inquiries, e-mails application materials, reviews all completed applications, arranges interviews
4. Oversees classroom supervision process for all teachers, communicates with university supervisors
5. Represents Operation TEACH at University Consortium for Catholic Education meetings and events
6. Maintains contact with former Operation TEACH teachers

Qualifications

• Knowledge: Master’s degree required.
• Experience: Previous successful teaching and service experience.
• Skills/Aptitude: Excellent interpersonal communication and written skills, detail oriented, and problem solving abilities. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
