Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Software Operations Manager 2 for the Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) division in Roy, UT.
What You’ll Get To Do:
In this position, the Manager of Software Operations will support an experienced and diverse team responsible for onboarding talent and resourcing leadership to support software staffing requirements. As this work spans across a diverse set of stakeholders, this leader will be expected to collaborate effectively and partner across organizations – Human Resources, Communications, Site Operations, and Program Leadership – to ensure required staffing for software personnel in support of all programs.
Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
Successful candidate will join the SDS Division Software team supporting hiring and on-boarding needs for the Division. This role requires a pro-active individual willing to work in fast-paced and dynamic environment. A good team focus and willingness to multi-task is important in this role. Key responsibilities will include:
• Developing hiring requisitions, managing large number of personnel resources and requirements
• Coordinating with the Software Division Homeroom, for identifying needs.
• Building hiring requisitions within Workday for all staffing needs, to include coordination with Talent Acquisition teams, interviewing and supporting all onboard activities.
• Preparing charts and briefings on staffing, hiring, terminations, and future needs on status and progress.
• Acting with a sense of urgency and accountability; taking ownership of tasks and strategic direction
• Updating project database information with multiple input sources
• Creating metrics and useful reports from the project databases – using dashboards
• Measuring hiring statistics and hiring forecast
• Coordination of database system changes with admins and developer

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree with at least 6 years of related experience and at least 1 years experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
• Ability to travel 10% of time
Preferred Qualifications:
• Active in-scope DoD Secret clearance or higher
• Detailed and team oriented with demonstrated leadership and organization skills
• Demonstrated experience in:
o Collaborating across organizations to bring forward a consolidated objective and measure performance
o Leading through a program or project start-up and effectively rolling out and managing change
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Leadership experience through a program or organizational stand-up
• At least 1 year experience with Agile processes
• The ability to manage communications with stakeholders through organized processes to ensure that Division Software staffing is defined, collected, and published in Workday to meet program and stakeholder needs.
Salary Range: $102,500 USD – $153,700 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
