Newberry College is seeking a tenure-track, full-time (9 month) assistant professor for the Department of Teacher Education. The
successful candidate will be a dynamic, flexible, dependable, and creative professional who demonstrates a strong commitment to
student-centered learning through instructional best practices. The qualified candidate will teach a variety of education courses which may
include early childhood, elementary, special education, middle level, and secondary education.
The candidate will also be responsible
for professional service, scholarly productivity, recruitment and retention initiatives, supervision of field and clinical experiences, and
authentic advisement for education majors. This position may require some evening, weekend, and summer work. A background in the
accreditation process, experience in working in a public or private school setting along with teaching experience with a diversity of
learners such as English Language Learners and/or special education is highly preferred.
Start Date: August 2024

Educational or other hiring requirements for the
position: An earned doctorate in education is preferred. A.B.D. or a highly experienced professional with a master’s degree in
education may be considered. Demonstration of excellent interpersonal, technology, and communication competencies in a cohesive team
environment.
