SUMMARY
Mortenson is currently seeking a passionate Lean Coordinator II for our Solar Energy group responsible for building capability in field leaders to confidently apply Mortenson’s continuous improvement (Kaizen) approach to improve work outcomes. As a result, the work outcomes show measurable improvement (metrics include safety, quality, production reliability/consistency, and productivity). You will provide valuable input to the project’s senior superintendent and Group lean leader so we can constantly improve our approach to improving fieldwork.
RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Personal Development and Growth as a Continuous Improvement Resource. Continuous effort to acquire new knowledge, skills and capabilities to be better at what you do, especially in leadership skills (commonly known as ‘soft skills’). For example, developing followers, creating trust, leading through influence, emotional intelligence, active listening, creating psychological safety, coaching to develop others’ decision-making and problem-solving capability. Measure of success is ongoing progress on the Lean Coach Proficiency Scale as assessed by a Master Coach.
B. Project Superintendent and Lean Manager Confidence and Trust. Seen as a key resource for executing the continuous improvement approach in-the-field, and developing this capability in field leaders (Foremen, General Foremen).

Education and Experience Requirements
A. High School Diploma or GED.
B. Experience as a Lean Coordinator I or as a Construction field leader (Crew Lead, Foreman, or General Foreman)
C. Experience applying lean methods such as Improvement Events (Kaizen Events) and familiarity with continuous improvement principles.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires the following with or without an accommodation; sitting, seeing, hearing, and utilization of a computer and office equipment.
The working environment consists of indoor and climate-controlled settings as well as field operations (outdoor settings).
