The Mgr, Quality and Compliance is responsible for developing, implementing and tracking all Performance Improvement Systems throughout the East Mountain Youth Lodge. They are also responsible for providing administrative presence and oversight during the evening shift for EMYL programming with an emphasis on quality assurance. The Manager works closely with the Director of Adolescent Residential Services in identifying priorities from a performance improvement/quality assurance perspective. Additional duties will include direct supervision of EMYL’s Crisis Intervention Specialists.

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining Performance Improvement Projects and Plans
• Creating new systems and programs, as necessary, to improve performance at the lodge
• Assisting in developing departmental plans for hospital initiatives such as I-CARE and CSI
• Maintaining the EMYL Policy Manual and ensuring that our policies match our current licensing regulations and hospital policies
• Maintaining the Hospital Policy Manuals that are located on EMYL
• Developing and adjusting EMYL forms as needed
• Acting as a liaison for other Agencies such as DHS, DCBHS, Institutional Abuse, Medicaid, JCAHO, and others during inspections and at other times, as needed. This also includes: helping to develop and carry out Corrective Action Plans as needed
• Running Root Cause Analyses and Failure Mode Effects Analyses as needed
• Representing EMYL in the Staffing Effectiveness Committee
• Developing and Maintaining the Staff Training Schedule and Tracking System
• Tracking of Incident Reports, Unusual Incident Reports, Institutional Abuse Investigations, and Recertification Sheets, as well as making sure that follow-ups happen as planned
• Developing and maintaining EMYL’s statistics programs
• Member of Core Team and continuing to promote Adventure Programming at the Lodge Providing Administrative oversight for the second shift at EMYL
• Being an Administrative presence during evening shifts: spending time on each of the units working with, teaching, and redirecting direct care staff on this shift
• Working with Program Supervisors to ensure that evening shifts are running as intended and discipline staff as needed
• Working as a support and “go-to” person for Shift Leaders, when crisis situations or other unusual situations occur, to help develop plans.
• Assisting floor staff during crisis situations
• Running PRT Staff Debriefings for restraints occurring on the evening shift
• Assists the Director of Administrative Operations at EMYL in duties as needed
• Developing program policies and procedures, and enforcing adherence to them
• Overseeing personnel performance
• Acting as a liaison between EMYL and other departments and coordinating functions between them
• Running various lodge management committees
• Creating long term program development plans
• Assists with completion of Annex A’s for contracting purposes
• Certifies submission of data to the bureau of nutrition for meal/snack reimbursement
• Direct supervision of EMYL’s Milieu Management Specialist (MMS).
• Ensuring quality assurance in the respective areas and assisting the coordinators in developing PI plans as needed
• Provides weekly face to face supervision with coordinators
• Completes annual performance appraisals and ensures all mandatory educational sessions are attended by coordinators and their staff
• Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
• Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with adolescents.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

• Masters Degree in related field.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

• Valid Driver’s License from a USA state.
• AHA HeartSaver First Aid CPR AED Certification, or completed within the first 90 days of employment.
