Salary Range: $60,728 – $104,398 Annually
Baltimore City Health Department is seeking to fill a Project Officer position for the Bureau of Clinical Services and HIV/STI Prevention programs. This position will support activities under BCHD’s HIV prevention federal and local grants.
In line with the National HIV/AIDS Strategic Plan 2021-2025, Maryland’s Integrated HIV Plan 2018-2022, and the Baltimore City End the HIV Epidemic Plan, BCHD’s HIV/STI Prevention Program aims to have Baltimore become a place where new HIV infections are rare and when they do occur, every person, regardless of age, gender, race/ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity or socio-economic circumstance, will have unfettered access to high quality, life extending care, free from stigma and discrimination.
BCHD’s HIV/STI Prevention Program utilizes innovative social marketing and community engagement approaches to support HIV, Hepatitis C, and STI testing, and HIV prevention initiatives including Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP). The Project Officer is responsible for ensuring achievement of administrative and programmatic goals for all supported programs, and community groups, with a focus on youth engagement. This position works closely with other project officers and administrative staff, and reports to the program managers.
Specific duties associated with this position will include:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Requirements – A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience in health program administration, coordination, planning or supervision.
Equivalencies – Equivalent combination of education and experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Requirements – A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and at least two years of experience in planning, evaluation or coordination of a program
Equivalencies – Equivalent combination of education and experience.
This position offers a comprehensive benefits package but it does not include retirement benefits.
