The Massachusetts General Hospital Molecular Pathology Unit is looking for an exceptional individual to perform administrative support. Incumbent will be responsible for completion of operational and administrative duties to meet the needs of Molecular Pathology research labs. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to coordinating faculty calendars, organizing travel and reimbursements, submitting financial requests, onboarding new staff hires including Visa processing, and helping in department research projects and initiatives as they arise. Must be a high performer with well-developed organizational and communication skills to produce consistent quality work with minimal supervision.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This individual will augment and divide tasks currently performed by our Senior Administrative assistant to provide enhanced administrative support. Duties will include:
• Maintain research website and MGB brochure ensuring content is accurate and up to date.SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
o Strong quantitative skills; Specific experience in secretarial support preferred.
o Skill with spreadsheets and databases is needed. Must be thoroughly familiar with MS Office.
o Must be analytical and organized; able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks. Solid customer service skills are needed as well as the ability to work successfully as a member of a team in a large organization.
o Must pay particular attention to detail and deadlines.
o Exceptional computer skills (including word processing, database, electronic mail, internet, and spreadsheets) required.
o Excellent interpersonal/communications skills.
o Ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.
o Exceptional organizational skills and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks and deadline pressures.
o Ability to work and make decisions independently.
o Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
