Job Description Our engineering firm in South Austin is seeking a Human Resources Specialist. The HR Specialist duties involve a wide range of activities from staffing and recruiting to aiding in the creation and maintenance of policies, processes and documents as well as saftey administration and compliance. Ultimately, you’ll help make sure our HR department is organized and operates smoothly to attract, hire, train and retain highly qualified individuals who will help make our team better. Responsibilities will include: • Staffing and Recruiting – New Hire Process and Recruitment procedures • Screen candidates and set up interview’s • Substantiates applicants’ skills by administering and scoring tests. • Welcomes new employees to the organization. • Conduct New Hire Orientations • Time and attendance tracking in the HRIS system. • Assist in the Payroll process. • Maintains employee information in the HRIS system. • Assist employees with “Self Service” aspects of the HRIS system as needed. • Assist in the training and development of employees – Safety Training, CEU, etc. • Assist in all areas of Benefit Coordination of multiple plans and vendors including: medical, vision, dental, HSA, PTO, 401K, supplemental coverage, etc. • Assist in Employee Relations and support through the HRIS system. • Maintains accurate Employee Files, Organization Charts, Contact Lists, etc • Provide administrative support as needed to help maintain a professional office environment. • Assist in the research, development, implementation, maintenance and distribution of Company policies, procedures, handbooks, and training materials in order to maintain company compliance. • Assist in the development and maintenance of a Company Safety Plan and Training programs for diverse departments • Assist in the completion, tracking, and maintenance of all Federal, State, and Local compliance related documents. • Develop and maintain employee confidence in all HR functions. • Provide a timely, accurate service to employees in a polite and considerate manner. • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing publications. • Contributes to overall team effort. • Other duties as assigned. Skills Required: • Proven work experience as an HR Specialist or HR Generalist • Hands-on experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), like Paylocity • Knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems • Solid understanding of labor legislation and payroll process • Familiarity with full cycle recruiting • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Good problem-solving abilities • Team building skills • BSc/MSc in Human Resources or other relevant field of study or • 3-5 years of relevant work experience
