We are looking for a Senior Network Wireless Engineer to be a part of a dynamic Engineering group to focus on transforming Network Wireless Infra . The role will require design, development, deployment and maintenance of the Corporate Network. The qualified candidate will also provide technical leadership and influence to the Corporate Network and core infrastructure team. In addition, help develop and advocate the Network, Wireless and Automation Roadmap to cross- functional teams and stakeholders.
This role will be based in Sunnyvale.

Responsibilities:
Architect, design, deploy, and improve wireless networks by collaborating with vendors, stakeholders, Network Engineering and partner teams.
Provide technical leadership on Wireless Networks, driving and performing best Engineering practices to initiate, plan, and execute large-scale, cross functional, and company-wide critical programs.
Develop and contribute to network tooling that will help drive improvements towards the availability, performance, efficiency, and security of Linkedin’s services.
Analyze data to diagnose and identify root causes to network-specific events.
Periodic on-call duties to provide Network support, incident management, and troubleshooting. Resolve network outages and own short/ long term remediation plans.
Review network capacity and develop a plan to meet current and future demand.
Partner cross-functionally with other Infrastructure teams to continuously improve and enforce standards and policies relevant to Operational Excellence
Provide technical leadership in developing and deploying an observability platform to gather wireless network insights and telemetry
Basic Qualifications:
BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience
5+ years hands on experience in WiFi technology, RF Design, RF Survey/Engineering and RF troubleshooting skills with experience in protocols and authentication mechanisms.
(802.11ac/ax/ay/be, WPA/WPA2/WPA3, 802.1X, EAP-TLS etc.)
7+ years of hands-on experience working on network protocols and concepts such as TCP/IP (IPv4/v6), OSPF, BGP, IS-IS, STP, GRE, HSRP/VRRP.
7+ years experience with enterprise routers, switches, Firewall and wireless controllers. (Cisco IOS XE, Cisco NX-OS, Juniper JUNOS, Aruba/Mist/Cisco, Palo Alto/Checkpoint/Cisco firewalls).
7+ years experience designing and deploying key WLAN applications including Secure Mobility, Voice and Video over WLAN, Location Based Services, and Wireless Guest Access.
2+ years experience with Linux, Python, using source control systems like Git and an orchestration tool like Ansible for automating routine network tasks at scale
5+ years of experience working with networking communication principles, network standards, and network security practices.
Experience with working with remote staff in other countries/time zones.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with leveraging SNMP, syslog, telemetry, dashboards etc. and optimizing for monitoring/alerting in an enterprise network
Experience working with various network APIs and data models for management, monitoring and operating network infra
Experience with network management, network availability, QOS & capacity planning.
Experience with network protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, IPSec, VRRP, HSRP, and SNMP. In-depth experience with IP addressing (IPv4 & IPv6), subnetting, routing, switching, VLANs, NAT, VPN, etc.
Experience with firewalls, router ACLs, IPSec VPNs, RADIUS, and TACACS
Knowledgeable in designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
Experience with Cloud Computing platforms (e.g. Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Compute Engine). Understanding of Linux containers (LXC) and similar technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).

Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location.
