Description:
Company’s IVS (Integrated Vehicle Systems) Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated ADS (Automated Driving System) & ADAS (Advanced Driver Assist System) Technician.
The primary responsibility of this role is to is to support ADS & ADAS evaluation activities in IVS. Reporting to the IVS Manager, the person in this role will support the IVS department’s objective to ensure vehicle performance.
Requirements:
The home work site for this role will be at a site located in Ypsilanti however in this role there could be various times that the candidate could be requested to work r sites (the Ann Arbor Main location, the Saline Main location and an offsite location in Fowlerville which is 38 Miles north of the Ann Arbor site).
Potential Work
Shifts:
Main/Primary shift is 1st shift
Start time between 7-9am, end time 4-6pm (flexible).
Based on type of task, 2nd t could be necessary. This can be anytime during the evenings nights. This is task based, for example headlight testing which must be done at night or track reservation based according to track availability. The need to work these other shifts is less than 10% per year.
At times weekends are required as well. The need to work weekend is also around 10% eases with the added complication of travel. That is to say, if the member is traveling outside normal work locations called out above then the need to work weekends on that trip also go up.
Associates in Technical Field, and/or BS in Automotive, Electronics, Technology or equivalent technical experience
Vehicle track/public road evaluation hands on work experience (1 yr or more)
Ability to use data acquisition equipment
Ability to provide vehicle troubleshooting support via phone or video conference
Highly organized in documenting/communicating data issues accurately, including technical writing and reporting ability
Experience in updating vehicle systems software and confirming functionality
Experience interpreting electrical systems drawings, specifications, manuals, wire diagrams , and standards
Lifelong learner mindset (how/why all vehicle systems work, including test equipment and new technologies)
OBD (On Board Diagnostic) and CAN (Controller Area Network) tool use, experience, and understanding to troubleshoot system issues
Skilled in the use of hand and shop tools to build test fixtures, disassemble and assemble vehicles
Clean driving record
Willingness to travel ~ 50% (Ypsilanti, Ann Arbor, Saline and Fowlerville area)
