Starting Pay: $26/hr+ Based on experience.
JOB SUMMARY
The Buyer/Planner I role is responsible for purchasing and planning a wide range of materials to support production schedules in a fast paced environment. They will work closely with the Scheduling, Order Writing, Materials, and Production teams to ensure timely delivery of components and other materials. The Buyer Planner I will analyze MRP data and control appropriate inventory levels to ensure supply meets demand through identifying proper sources, obtaining quotes and placing orders for material requests through our ERP system (Spokane).
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Manage the supplier relationship for the respective location
• Set up new part numbers with all required part master information
• Run and analyze MRP report to issue purchase orders, control appropriate inventory levels to support the production schedule, and ensure timely delivery of material through order confirmations
• Monitor open purchase order report as required, including monitoring backorder status
• Maintain parts status to ensure the production team can execute customer projects as efficiently as possible
• Address post-release material issues with a sense of urgency and accountability
• Utilize available resources to meet planned production requirements including identifying alternate suppliers
• Hold suppliers accountable according to the terms of their preferred supplier agreement
• Assist in supplier negotiations based on estimated annual usage to better control costs
• Work with accounts payable for new supplier set-up, invoice discrepancies, and credit memos
• Work well in a team environment, especially across departments
• Ideal candidate will be detail oriented and demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Other duties as assigned by the Supply Chain Manager
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• BS/BA in Business or Supply Chain Management plus 1-3 years relevant work experience
• OR Associates degree plus 3-5 years relevant work experience
• 2 years in a supply chain related role preferred (e.g. planning, purchasing, procurement, material management)
• Demonstrated competency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems
• Maintains a positive attitude and communicates with others clearly and concisely
• Experience in a manufacturing or production environment
• Basic understanding of supply chain concepts and best practices
• Basic understanding of truck equipment and accessories
