Responsibilities
The KIPP DC CTO leads KIPP DC’s talent acquisition, human resources, and talent development. One of the CTO’s elevated priorities is to update and execute on the innovative and effective strategy that enables KIPP DC to recruit exceptional instructional and regional staff in the context of a changing educational landscape. Relatedly, the CTO will develop a multipronged retention strategy that promotes long-term stability and enhanced student and system performance. The CTO will also manage and lead the multilayered talent team, which include employees with a variety of tenure and experience.
The CTO’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Lead the talent team
Design and execute on strategy to recruit exceptional instructional and regional staff
Ensure KIPP DC’s HR operations are efficient and scalable
Support regional staff
Build and implement strategies to support a high-performing and diverse workforce
Serve as a member of KIPP DC’s executive team

KIPP DC requires all staff to provide proof that they are up to date on their COVID-19 vaccine (meaning they have received a full course of a COVID vaccine and received a booster when they are eligible) or obtain approval for exemption due to medical or religious reasons before beginning employment. New hires who have not received all doses of a COVID vaccine, who are eligible for a booster but have not received it, or who are awaiting approval for exemption will not be able to begin employment.
