General Purpose and Scope of the position:
The Recruitment, Admission, & Accelerated Programs Assistant supports the Office of Recruitment, Admission, & Accelerated Programs by providing a professional, helpful, welcoming atmosphere and positive attitude for faculty, staff, students, families, callers, and visitors of the campus. This position provides support of the general, day-to-day administrative, operational and clerical tasks as well as assisting with Recruitment and Admissions with recruitment related events and activities.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Provides administrative support including but not limited to answering phones, transfer calls, take messages; send and receive departmental emails.
2. Assists with projects as required (i.e., data entry, data review, student outreach, enrollment and retention initiatives, etc.)
3. Provide service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible and professional engagement.
4. Assists with campus recruitment events.
5. Participate in community service, service learning, and civic engagement projects and activities as deemed appropriate by the Chancellor.
6. Maintain accuracy and confidentiality of student enrollment records in compliance with College and the Family Educational Rights Privacy Act (FERPA).
7. All other duties as assigned, consistent with commonly accepted practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required. Recognizes the need to maintain accuracy and confidentiality of student enrollment records. A team player. Experience and knowledge of computer software (including all Microsoft products) and data entry skills required. Good listening and customer service skills in working with the general public as well as college personnel. Fully supports the College’s mission and strategic plan initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree is preferred. Experience and knowledge working in an administrative position with an institution of higher education is preferred.
