Hudson’s Bay Company Looking for Senior Asset Protection Manager, Queen St at Toronto, Ontario Full Time

What This Position is All About:

The Sr. Asset Protection Manager (Sr. APM) is responsible for the overall protection of the company assets and enforcing of the Asset Protection strategies to combat shrink within a Hudson’s Bay Flagship location. The Sr. Asset Protection Manager also delivers training to staff, enforces policy, procedures and operational standards set by the Asset Protection department and company.

Other responsibilities for this role include, but not limited to, informing store leadership and District Asset Protection  team of potential losses, installing and implementing standards and procedures to control internal and external loss, maintaining a perpetual awareness of loss and strategies to control stores inventory, developing relationships to maintain constant flow of constructive information to help drive the business, and motivating, training, and developing Asset Protection staff and store personal to embrace prevention strategies and techniques to further protect the company and prevent store loss.

You Also Have:

• 5+ years directly-related, Asset Protection/Loss Prevention and/or Retail work experience
• Experience in driving successful Asset Protection/Loss Prevention, Shortage Control, Health & and fraud prevention programs
• Self-motivated individual who can be successful in a fast-paced environment, with minimal supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong presentation skills
• Must demonstrate the ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities

As The Sr. Asset Protection Manager, You Will:

Minimizing Operational Shortage

• Achieve shortage reduction goals for assigned store
• Identify shortage risks through regular review of exception reports; partner with store leadership to develop action plans to address/minimize operational shortage
• Ensure Asset Protection initiatives are conducted consistently and objectively, with a focus on continuous improvement through partnership and training
• Coach, train, and influence store leadership and associates on best practice execution to minimize operational shortage
• Leverage inventory control reporting i.e. carton acknowledgement to identify institutionalized shortage opportunities
• Promote shortage awareness through available programs
• Support assigned store during annual inventory process

Mitigating Theft & Fraud

• Partner with District Asset Protection Manager (DAPM) in identifying, investigating, and resolving all internal and external theft and fraud, striving to minimize the impact of loss to the company and address new types of theft and fraud
• Maximize utilization of all available merchandise protection tools and resources (including EAS, CCTV, alarm equipment, fitting room controls, shortage awareness programs, etc.) to address loss in store
• Ensure consistent execution of all deterrence resources/tools to proactively combat external loss
• Leverage exception & store reporting systems to identify theft activity in assigned store
• Drive resolution and case closure on all internal and external investigations, including timely follow up on internal leads from the corporate investigative team or external intelligence from other retailers or law enforcement groups regarding current market theft trends
• Maintain appropriate confidentiality thorough internal investigations; partner with store/district leadership and Human Resources to address associate behavior and take corrective actions
• Drive store-level awareness of theft and fraud techniques as well as prevention tools/resources to mitigate future impact and loss

Developing Great Teams & Partnerships

• Train store leadership and associates, and Business Partners, on current Asset Protection initiatives and programs
• Assist store leadership in promoting awareness campaigns on shortage and safety control measures; regularly participate in key store meetings and recognition program activities
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with District / Corporate Asset Protection partners and field-based peers; share current store/area trends and provide feedback on current or proposed initiatives
• Foster regular working partnerships with other internal organizations to drive integrated solutions for shortage control and Health & Safety initiatives
• Drive a performance management culture by detecting opportunities for improvement in individual, team, and store performance; influence change in less-than-optimal behaviors before they become ingrained
• Participate in the recruitment and hiring of top talent for store-based Asset Protection positions; in partnership with store management, support the onboarding, ongoing training and development, and performance management of Asset Protection Personal in assigned store
• Promote effective internal communication through regular participation in store meetings
• Establish and leverage regular communication with external business partners including law enforcement agencies, retail theft organizations, and other retail LP/AP departments
• Assist in the development and updating of training materials and concepts for awareness training sessions
• Perform other responsibilities and projects as assigned
