Hudson’s Bay Company Looking for Hardware Analyst, Store Infrastructure at Toronto, Ontario Full Time

Day in the Life:

The Hardware Analyst, Store Infrastructure is responsible for the adhering to the service level agreements, creating documentation to support store infrastructure, reporting in our incident management tool (Cherwell), problem management and overall ticket reduction.  The position requires full understanding of hardware and applications running on our list of qualified and selected hardware and services. This includes maintaining a matrix of all equipment and documenting supportability and serviceability. Ensure full compliance with corporate policies, procedures and security standards are met for sensitive customer data.  Work closely with cross-functional teams across various IT departments including, infrastructure, network, information security, project management and help desk.  The position will work closely with 3rd party vendors supporting the Infrastructure team, specifically our onsite services and ad-hoc repair centers.  The position will also be responsible for the facilitation of all Incident queues in the Store Infrastructure area.

What You Will Do:

• Assist, as requested, with the evaluation of technical solutions based on requirements, ranging from group to enterprise wide deployments
• Provides remote level or onsite hardware and server support as needed
• Reviews the status/performance of applications, file systems, and component utilization
• Checks system logs for hardware, software, and security issues
• Troubleshoot TCP/IP based network related issues on Windows servers and workstations
• Troubleshoot DHCP and DNS related issues in Active Directory environment
• Recommend, implement and document corrective solutions and preventative measures
• Document work in the form of policies, standards and knowledge base articles
• Act as a lead project resource, provide guidance, as needed, to team members, as well as provide training and mentoring on technologies to peers and colleagues
• Interfaces with vendor support to resolve outstanding issues/problems or the implementation of projects
• Review tickets for necessary information and determine course of action and priority for the tickets
• Works with application, network and Help Desk support personnel to resolve system issues
• Perform daily prioritization of work to ensure assigned project and incident SLA requirements are met
• Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required

What You Will Need:

• Networking/Switching hardware: VLANS, Routing, Subnets, Cabling, etc
• Networking Protocols and standards –, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VPN, Firewall and SSL certificates
• IBM and Dell product knowledge
• Are familiar with at least one scripting language (Python, Powershell, etc)
• Basic skill regarding Azure, Windows Active Directory and Group Policy Management
• Strong competency of Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems
• Basic Linux and 4690 OS knowledge
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work with little to no supervision
• Ability to multi-task while maintaining organization, tracking deadlines and service level agreements
• Participate in the on-call schedule to provide emergency support via pager duty
• Associate’s degree or equivalent in Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent experience with infrastructure hardware and software systems
• Minimum of 3 years of Information Technology experience required in a production or equivalent environment
• Industry certifications expected, but not mandatory
