Success Profile: COPYWRITER
The new-to-be-created Copywriter will partner to make a team of two in-house Copywriters collaborating to give voice to the DKNY, Donna Karan and Karl Lagerfeld Paris brands to co-own the brand voice and tone on all consumer-facing channels. It is an exciting time to be part of building a best-in-class copywriting team to amplify the voice of G-III’s three most powerful, iconic global women’s fashion brands.
Reporting to: Creative Director, Brand Image Group
Brand Focus: G-III Lifestyle: DKNY, Donna Karan with additional support on Karl Lagerfeld Paris
Relationship Management: Collaborative Partnership with Copywriter Teammate; Individual Contributor – No Direct Reports
Location (On-Site): New York City, Midtown Manhattan – Fashion District
Responsibilities:
Copywriting: Ensures brand copy are consistent, accurate, inspiring and motivating on all 360 assets for G-III Apparel Group’s three Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) lifestyle brands
Branding: Supports all Marketing initiatives to build brand presence in the industry spanning seasonal brand/campaigns/editorial activations, weekly Ecommerce roadmap, seasonal Store messaging (key stories + promos), brand collaborations, trim, etc.
Voice/Tone: Help maintain a distinctive brand voice/tone for each separate brands across all platforms.
eCommerce: Create and manage all E-commerce copy content for DKNY.com, DonnaKaran.com (more brands to follow) and their respective email marketing programs; Manage the PDP copy process for both company-owned websites and wholesale partner sites.
Editorial Messaging: Ensure all editorial messaging supports business plans/objectives, is compelling, and succeeds in engaging the audience and driving traffic.
Retail Collateral: Provide copy for all Retail consumer collateral communications i.e. direct mailer pieces, in-store POS, event invitations, partner sites and promotions
Key Stakeholder Engagement: Liaises with various internal teams & external partners will be key
Leadership Excellence: Collaborate with existing copywriter, art directors, studio operations director and other internal studio members to understand message priorities, respond to creative requests and deliver against copy needs for each request.
Requirements for Qualified Candidate Introduction:
Professional Resume/CV including Professional Writing and Work Samples via Digital Portfolio URL or as Attachments, REQUIRED
Finalists will be invited to participate in a professional writing project
Professional Knowledge & Experience:
·Three (3) to Five (5) years of fashion/lifestyle retail-sector creative copywriting experience, required
·Women’s global fashion brand specific ready-to-wear copywriting experience, a plus
·Unshakably organized; into and on top of the right details; predictable; multi-tasker extraordinaire – solution focused problem solver
·Engaging verbal and written communication and relationship management capability – superb messenger – confident executive presence
·Flexibility to work in a high energy environment at the speed of fashion with ever-changing priorities – and thriving in it!
Educational Background:
·College degree in related field (Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English) or equivalent professional work experience, required
