HOURS: Full-time 0.9 NIGHTs 7pm-7:30am; Includes weekend and holiday rotations
JOB SUMMARY: (The following duties and responsibilities are all essential job functions, as defined by the ADA, except those that begin with the word “May.”)
1. Completes patient admission assessment, including database and medication list, for patients using the following priorities:
1. Patients directly admitted
2. Patients admitted through the Emergency Department
2. Will float between Peds/PICU, Mother/Baby and NICU at Edward Hospital and SCN at Elmhurst Hospital.
3. Completes patient discharge process, including After Visit Summary, and ensures medication reconciliation completion.
4. Assists in stabilizing a unit after a rapid response, code blue, or similar event.
5. Accepts other RN responsibilities as requested by the hiring manager, including but not limited to starting intravenous lines; accessing ports; and transporting and remaining with patients in radiology.
6. Assists in evaluating the effectiveness of the Clinical Resource Team Nurse Program.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
* One to two years of PICU and NICU experience
* Associate Degree or higher in Nursing
* If Associate Degree in Nursing is the highest degree held, must graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing within five years of position start date (effective September 1, 2021)
* Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure
* Current CPR Certification issued by either American Heart Association or American Red Cross
