Responsibilities
The Center for Global Health (CGH) Assistant Director (AD) supports the activities of the CGH leadership and steering committee to provide administrative support for the CGH. The Assistant Director is responsible for developing strategy, providing management and oversight of operations of the CGH. The AD develops and provides a solid infrastructure of core functions and services needed to support various stakeholders doing work in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). The AD develops and maintains systems with various administrative departments within DFCI, including, but not limited to, the Office General Counsel, Office for Human Protection of Research Subjects, Philanthropy, Finance, Grants Administration, and others, to streamline processes needed for the conduct of clinical capacity building, research, and education in LMICs. The AD develops collaborative relationships with academic departments, centers, and researchers at DFCI, Boston Children’s Hospital (BCH) and Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) including departments of Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Surgery, Nursing, Pathology, Imaging, Population Science, and collaborators outside of DFCI. The AD represents DFCI in meetings with external entities as well as with peer institutions (BWH/BCH).
