The Human Resources Generalist performs (under general supervision) human resources functions of routine to moderate complexity including employment, employee relations, benefits, compensation, and employee services using standard policies, procedures and guidelines. Assist in the implementation and administration of company personnel policies, procedures and programs to ensure alignment with human resources and overall business objectives.
Duties include:
Acts as lead analyst on recruitment and retention programs, test development, classification studies, and training development; prepares project plans, including dates, benchmarks, and list of resources needed; identifies need for and conducts or provides for training of staff; reviews work of staff; assists in establishing objectives and maintaining performance standards; provides input on performance evaluations of staff.
Manages and Maintain benefit program systems, this includes reconciling monthly insurance invoices
Perform periodic audits to ensure personnel files and I9 forms are updated in accordance to changes in the law
Process and maintain all new hire documents, including administration of new hire process
Maintain and update HRIS administration
Coordinate and facilitate on-line benefit enrollment and termination process
Coordinate the pre and post hire process, which may include advertising, scheduling, interviewing, screening, preparation of offer and no-interest letters, background, drug test, and reference checks
Facilitate New Employee Orientation and other mandated training as needed
Back-up Payroll Analyst with processing payroll; Back-up Payroll Analyst with entering and processing garnishments, liens, and wage assignments
Provide clarification of policies and procedures to line managers and employees
Assists in the coordination of the Employee Recognition Program and employee appreciation events and activities
Provide on-going recommendations for continuous improvement and develop plan for organizational development; Administer Performance Management process
Assist in coordinating the open enrollment process
Create and submit reports as needed
Coordinate Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, and Workers Compensation processes
Provide Statistical information on terminations and recommend retention programs
Exit interviews (voluntary)
Retention data (Department and Position)
COBRA notification & enrollment
Notification to CHA-backup
Assist Human Resources Director with all union issues, drafting recommendations and notifications
Assist Human Resources Director with responding to third party complaints (EEOC, DHR, IDOL)
Hear Grievances and provide recommendations to the Director of Human Resources
Ensure all employees’ system access is submitted properly to IT (modifications as well)

Must be proficient in all areas of Microsoft Office and HRIS applications
The desired candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a related field with three (3) to five (5) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.
