Subject matter coding expert to CHPG clinical operations personnel and external payer personnel for the assigned payer quality incentive metric requirements in the outpatient settings. Responsible for planning and performing coding education and training statewide, Responsible for performing internal audits and follow up education. Facilitates and promotes standardization of coding practices and workflow statewide and monitors and communicates payer documentation and coding requirements for quality incentive programs. Participates in short-term and long-term strategic planning.
What You Bring/Job Requirements
In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
- 5 years coding experience in an acute care setting required with charge capture experience; 3 years experience in internal auditing and/or coding education; prefer multi-healthcare setting experience
- Must demonstrate competency of outpatient coding and guidelines, as appropriate
- Advance knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and troubleshooting computer problems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bachelors Degree preferred
- CPC or CCS-P and CPMA/CHCA required; additional specialty credentials preferred
Physical Requirements- Sedentary work -(prolonged periods of sitting and exert up to 10lbs force occasionally)
