Centric Brands Looking for HUMAN RESOURCES BUSINESS PARTNER (HRBP) at New York, New York Full Time

Specific Responsibilities

Centric Brands is a leading lifestyle brand collective that designs, sources, markets, and sells high-quality products in the kids, men’s and women’s apparel, accessories, beauty, and entertainment categories. The Company’s portfolio includes brands and licenses for more than 100 iconic brands including Izod, Joe’s Jeans, Hudson and Buffalo David Bitton and Robert Graham. 

Centric Brands is looking for a dynamic, creative, and resourceful HR Business Partner to join its team. This individual must be a self-starter and team player who takes initiative, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is excited about joining a team on a journey to accelerate transformation across Centric Brands.

The ideal candidate will contribute at both hands-on and strategic levels to cultivate and environment that is inspires creativity, stimulates intellectual curiosity, and fosters critical thinking. As the HRBP, you will be responsible for driving key human resources initiatives and creating an engaging culture.  Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to employee relations, on-boarding recruiting, legal compliance, coaching and counseling of employees and culture enhancement. 

Roles and Responsibilities

Strategy & Innovation

• Function as a business advisor to Managers and appropriately respond to organizational changes including restructuring, communications, recruiting, etc.
• Grow talent through effective development planning, performance management, and succession planning.
• Assist leadership with creating an environment where employees are engaged and able to do their best work through systems/tools, simplifying process and enhanced learning & development opportunities.

Operations & Results

• Establish and maintain an intimate understanding of the client organizations and the business, in the interest of building effective and productive working relationships with the internal stakeholders and clients, at all levels of the organization.
• Create processes that speed, efficiency, and support rapidly shifting business demands
• Coach leaders on HR policies and processes, including talent engagement, learning and development, performance management to promote engagement and a culture of continuous growth and development.
• Demonstrated experience and ability to balance business partnering skills with employee advocacy.
• Ability to manage high level of complexity with degree of independence, balancing the need for collaboration with minimal supervision
• Experience leading and managing large scale projects
• Manage onboarding processes to create an engaging experience for team members entering new roles, both internally and externally.
• Continuously monitor and recommend new or revised policies and practices in all areas of human resources management.  Research best practices and competitive information.
• Work collaboratively with the leadership team on recruitment initiatives, employee relations issues, corrective action and performance management needs.
• Interpret policies and procedures for managers and employees.
• Ensure compliance with all federal and state labor laws.
• Initiate employee engagement activities such as employee events, development opportunities, etc.
• Participate in a wide variety of project-related activities and initiatives. Serve on cross-functional projects and teams as needed

Employee Relations

• Lead positive employee relations initiatives to meet business needs and appropriately address employee concerns within the organization.
• Partner with leaders and offer direction in handling employee relations issues. Assist managers in employee counseling and the progressive discipline process.
• Provide guidance to resolve employee relations problems. Conduct thorough investigations and handle all documentation, escalation, and communication in a timely manner

Customer & Relationships

• Develop strong relationships with leadership to anticipate business needs, respond quickly to changing priorities, and support the business in meeting customer demands

Skills and Requirements

• Demonstrated proficiency in Human Resources functional delivery; 5 years corporate Human Resources experience.
• Strong problem solving and influencing skills, a hands-on approach in working with management and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
• Superior interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated skill in coaching and counseling across a variety of employee populations and human resource issues.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
• General business acumen and analytical skills
• Must have flexibility to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, take direction from multiple people, and handle pressure in a positive manner.
• Proficiency with computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS
