Specific Responsibilities

Description

The Associate Designer supports the Head of Wovens Designer in the seasonal design development process, from concept to production, by assisting with CADs and Tech-packs that meet market needs in order to drive sales by ensuring the timely execution of each stage in the process.

Primary Responsibilities

• Create development and production tech packs.
• Sketch CADs & Garment Flat sketches in Adobe Illustrator. Render sketches in print, pattern and solid.
• Create new CAD/Flat sketches from garment inspiration images.
• Manage multiple product lines in development and production simultaneously from first proto to final TOP sample. Check PPS & TOP against tech packs and send approvals to factories
• Create Techpacks and follow up with factory as updates are required. Ensure accuracy with information. Tracking of submit timelines.
• Create and maintain all line sheets, development tracking charts and sample logs.
• Maintain a highly organized design process, including files, materials, and communications.
• Research and identify trends that enhance design aesthetic.
• Assist in the creation of all design materials & mood boards for presentations.
• Communicate with overseas factories promptly.

Skills and Requirements

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in Fashion Design or relevant field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Apparel Design (or similar). Previous experience (including internships) in Fashion Design preferred.
• Prompt, cross-cultural communicator who can competently communicate with overseas factories and vendors.
• Highly skilled in Adobe Suite (Illustrator & Photoshop) as well as Microsoft Excel to ensure multiple projects are completed in provided deadlines.
• Must be strongly skilled and knowledgeable with print artwork. Must be able to create intricate repeating print artwork in illustrator. Ability to create graphic artwork in Photoshop is a huge plus.
• Punctuality, dependable attendance and high degree of autonomy necessary for remote work.
• Strong communication and organizational skills to keep our team running smoothly.
• Good knowledge of garment construction. Knowledge of a wide assortment of fabrications is a plus.
• Must have experience and be competent with communicating with factories overseas.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
