Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
The Cardiovascular (RESUME) Quality Coordinator is an RN who is responsible for accurate data abstraction, collation, and submission of clinical and statistical data to all RESUME Registries. This individual provides data entry support and registry education and training to Cardiac, Vascular, EP, and Critical Care Divisions of Bon Secours Saint Francis Health System.
Employment Qualifications
Self motivated individual with excellent team building abilities. Helpful if this individual is familiar with quality and performance improvement methods.
Must possess RN license for the State of South Carolina, Professional certification preferred (CCA)
BSN required, Masters preferred.
Three years Cardiology and Cath Lab experience required. Critical Care experience preferred. Cath Lab experience preferred.
Sound judgment, loyalty, resourcefulness, integrity, strong desire to teach others, passion for the RESUME service line and the ability to work effectively, independently and harmoniously with others.
Strong computer skills with knowledge of various software programs. Knowledge of desktop computer applications and clinical database concepts are essential.
Essential Job Functions
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Working knowledge of the following databases: American College of Cardiology-National Cardiology Data Registry, Society of Thoracic Surgery Data Registry, American Heart Association Get with the Guidelines, ACTION Registry.
Responsible for timely submission of all data to RESUME Registries
Provide education, orientation and guidance to RESUME Quality Department members.
Quality Management:
Prepare specific requested reports. Participate in performance improvement teams as assigned. (Clinical transformational teams)
Attend quality and performance improvement meetings as needed.
Maintain current knowledge of data definitions and standards for various clinical registries.
Participate in the auditing processes to ensure accuracy in data collection.
Participate in the development of policies and procedures for the database and quality reporting.
Perform other job-related responsibilities as needed
