About this role

We are looking for a Platform Strategist to support the Heads of Fundamental Equities, partnering closely with the FE ExCo, COO team, Product Strategy, Regional Leads and beyond. The Senior Platform Strategist will work with the heads of the business to prioritize and prepare for external and internal engagements and drive progress around FE strategic initiatives. Responsibilities include partnering with teams across the firm to shape firm strategy and align resources, talent, and operating plans with FE’s objectives.

The Platform Strategist should be a student of the industry and our organization, understanding how to navigate the firm and the various ecosystems and geographies in which we operate. The Platform Strategist will be resourceful, collaborative and demonstrates strong analytical and communication skills. This role reports to the Global FE COO.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute on various engagements with investors, clients, press, employees, and other ecosystem participants on behalf of the platform and heads of the business
• Work with business partners to plan client engagements and travel
• Ensure thorough preparation and review of all materials
• Execute on or drive execution of clear action items and commitments following meetings
• Scope, plan, and execute on special projects in areas including business and organizational strategy, conferences, communication of our strategy, and content for client engagements
• Assist in the planning, development, implementation, and mark-to-market of projects (including identifying and escalating issues)
• Drive operational execution, including ensuring all projects have accountable ownership, clear timelines, context for partners, specific and measurable deliverables, and alignment with firm priorities
• Draft presentations, talking points and briefing memos for client engagements, industry or internal conferences, Board presentations, etc.
• Proactively manage relationships internally and externally; serve as an ambassador and provide context to key stakeholders

Knowledge / Experience

• A strong understanding of the firm’s business and the industry, preferably with client experience
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Advanced PowerPoint and business writing skills; ability to quickly produce management-level presentations, business memos and exhibits utilizing data and synthesizing key information
• Flexible working style with ability to effectively communicate upcoming deliverables and objectives, influence stakeholders and effectively manage projects to time and quality
• Proven track record of engagement and leadership on strategic projects at a corporate level
• A strong contributor with the ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and multiple demands
• Ability to organize people under pressure, pull in key decisionmakers and prioritize issues
• Sense of urgency around client, management, and partner requests
• Positive attitude and willingness to “roll-up the sleeves”

For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $156,750 – $205,000. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
