Global Radiology & US Pharma Accounting BP Head 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role are: 

• Driving Strategy, Operations and Talent Management as a member of the Global Accounting Business Partner Team, US Accounting Leadership team, Americas Finance Business Partner team, and Global Radiology Finance Business Partner Team
• Representing Head of US Accounting to ensure correct and on time HBII reporting for assigned legal entities • Representing Global Accounting BP, Pharma in the decision making process for complex transactions such as restructuring, legal and environmental charges, gross to net reporting, contract reviews (sales, supply, in/out licensing, risk and profit sharing and tolling agreements, etc.) and risk assessments, valuation of intangibles and group impairment testing and actively supports Merger and Acquisition activities such as integration and divestment
• Act as main accounting representative for Global Radiology, Global Legal, Americas Pharma & US Leaps stakeholders
• Provide the Radiology business with the option that suits it best ensuring full compliance with external and internal laws and regulations
• Ensure a close link and involvement in relevant Global Pharma Legal topics. Prepare Accounting decisions ensuring a complete and accurate Global Picture of Pharma Legal Topics.
• Manage US Leaps acquisitions and divestments in close partnership with Global Finance M&A team
• Ensures a smooth communication flow between Accounting Stakeholders and across the different parts of the Global Accounting organization. Delivering fast feedback, translating business transactions into Accounting language and always having a broader view of the communication requirements in a Global organization. The position holder is able to work in a virtual organization.
• Supports and consults with Pharma Senior Management and the business in their decision processes by providing accounting impact of various options on business results
• Ensure a high degree of involvement with key business functions (e.g., Controlling, Contract Mgt., Marketing, Legal, Tax, Treasury and Product Supply) including organizing regular formal and informal meetings with the business, building relationships and networking
• Ensure a high degree of involvement with the satellite (or arm’s length) subsidiaries (e.g., AskBio, BlueRock, Vividion) ensuring frequent contact to understand emerging issues, new business models, new contracts, and pro actively provide support and advice
• Advocate for the positions supporting business objectives, whilst maintaining professional judgment and skepticism
• Ensure and encourage experimentation towards innovative new ways of working • Benchmarking with other Divisional Accounting BP s towards implementation of best practices across Bayer
• Provides Management for staff of local Business Partners including all aspects of Bayer s Talent Management process

WHO YOU ARE

Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our LIFE values.  More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

• Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree BS in Accounting or equivalent in experience with at least 13 years of experience or an MBA with 10 years’ experience preferred
• CPA certificate is preferred
• A minimum of 12 years working experience in a Fortune Global 100 company
• Minimum of 8 years of management and leadership experience with demonstrated ability

Preferred

• Big 4 Audit Experience is preferred
