ASML US, LLC Looking for Systems Test / Data Analytics Intern at San Diego, CA  Full Time

Introduction – Job Mission

The EUV Source team in San Diego operates in a fast-paced, uniquely innovative, and challenging environment to deliver new-to-industry products supporting the commercialization of EUV technology by ASML.

This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. * 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require the Company to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

Job Description

The intern will be part of the EUV Source Performance team within ASML San Diego. Due to high complexity of the EUV light source, we, as Source Performance, are a dedicated team with the mission to validate and ensure that EUV sources meet or exceed customer performance requirements and expectations. In order to execute this mission, EUV Source Performance acts as the critical enabler of knowledge acquisition and transfer throughout the products development process, via:

* Substantive participation in the technology development and system definition process for products in definition and early development stage.

* Ensuring quality of the module to sub-system to system-level performance testing and validation for the products in integration phase.

* Driving technology improvements enabling new products field release and refinement of system specifications based upon deep understanding of factory and field performance.

* The creation and delivery of analytic tooling, action plans and procedures to drive maximum solving power of our customer support organizations for sustaining products.

* Work in a team environment alongside local experienced engineers

* Specific tasks will be tailored to match the education / experience level of the intern as well as the inters learning objectives for the summer

* The 2023 project in Source Performance will be focused on further development of our data pipelines and creation of reporting tools to capture the unique knowledge generated within the team for consumption by other groups

* The goal of the internship is for you to learn about working in a corporate setting and to provide hands on experience solving real world problems in a team environment

* Interns will typically be required to document and present their findings as well as making an end of summer presentation to the group about what they achieved during their internship

Education and Experience

* Current active MS and PhD students in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, and Chemistry are encouraged to apply.

* Demonstrate strong analytical skills using MATLAB or Python, experience in a cloud environment a plus

* Ability to translate the design and test requirements into comprehensive analytic tools, test plan documents, and procedures.

* Ability to reduce large amounts of data into a concise summary, create high quality presentations of the research, form conclusions based on results, and clearly articulate recommended actions.

* Hands on evaluation of complex hardware and software prototype designs being developed using sophisticated experimental protocols to validate, maximize, document, and communicate the performance of EUV source products.

* Understanding of the concepts of optics and lasers, plasma generation, and control systems

* Possess strong ownership characteristics and commitment to achieving results on time

* Have strong written and oral communicative skills

* Be a demonstrated “team player” with a quality orientation and interpersonal skills

* Have strong problem solving skills and the ability to take initiative

* Be willing to be “wrong” at times and be open to the ideas of others
