Description
Antioch University provides leadership in the rapidly-evolving field of nature-based early childhood
education and place-based education by providing graduate coursework, degree and certificate programs, conferences, publications, and
collegial exchange through a professional network. Our focus is on the professional development of educators and on the wellbeing of
children, families, and communities.
The Antioch University School of Education invites applications for a full-time Core Faculty
position in the Education Department at Antioch University New England (AUNE). We seek candidates with experience and expertise in holistic
approaches such as nature-based early childhood education, project- and problem-based learning, and place-based education. Expertise in the
Reggio Emilia Approach, arts integration, and other areas of synergy is also welcome. Our broad aim is to provide educators who work in a
wide range of settings with focused professional development that is both inspiring and practical. We are particularly interested in
candidates who can combine teaching, scholarship, program development and leadership in a multi-dimensional way to contribute specifically
to our nature-based initiative as well as the broader work of the department.
This is a 12-month position with teaching, advising and
program oversight responsibilities in each of three trimesters, Summer, Spring and Fall. Responsibilities include teaching; advising;
supervising student practicums and research projects; course and program development; development and support of program faculty; managing
program expansion; scholarly engagement; grant writing; developing community partnerships; and collaborating with colleagues on program,
department and university initiatives.
