LOCATION:
Austin, TX
This role requires the student to work from the Austin office throughout the duration of the Co-op/Intern term. First-time Co-ops/Interns should work full-time and onsite.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
In this exciting opportunity, you will be immersed in the world of MLIR/MIGraphX, a dynamic open-source compiler and runtime stack. Your responsibilities will encompass gaining a comprehensive understanding of compiling Machine Learning networks specifically tailored for AMD graphics cards. This hands-on experience will not only involve delving into the fundamentals of AI-engine hardware capabilities but also actively engaging with MLIR dialects, execution models, and code generation. As part of your role, you will have the chance to contribute to the development of various components within a sophisticated software tool chain, all crafted in C++. Get ready to explore and contribute to the cutting edge of MLIR/MIGraphX technology.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficient in C++ programming
- Prior experience with machine learning models
- Prior experience with compilers, dataflow graphs
- Experience with modern source control systems such as GitHub
- Excellent verbal communication and writing skills
- Team player and work with a geo dispersed team
WHAT WOULD SET YOU APART:
- Knowledge of MLIR and dialects
- Experience in writing high performance GPU kernels, in particular GEMM kernels
- Knowledge of deep learning inference engine such as TVM, MIGraphX
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
Advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical fields.

At AMD, your base pay is one part of your total rewards package. Your base pay will depend on where your skills, qualifications, experience, and location fit into the hiring range for the position. You may be eligible for incentives based upon your role such as either an annual bonus or sales incentive.
