The Graph team builds and operates a novel distributed graph database which currently serves a 207B edges at 2.45M graph queries per second. We are taking the graph technology that was developed in house as a backbone of the LinkedIn Economic Graph to the Azure customers. The Azure Graph team builds a multi engine platform for cloud graph applications that seamlessly integrates end to end graph workflows supporting needs for data engineers, data scientists and analysts. Our mission is to empower organizations to adopt a seamless graph platform offering that is fully-managed by Azure, removing the overhead of scaling, support and maintenance and allowing customers to focus on solving business processes and workflows. As part of this mission we will be at the forefront of cloud transformation in the graph space.
As a Senior Manager on the Azure Graph team you will have the opportunity to own a broad set of capabilities and technologies, providing deep integration with Azure, and thereby delivering high impact value to customers through scalable graph computing. This is a deep technical space and vital market segment for the data industry. We are looking for highly motivated and self-driven individuals who are passionate in growing organizations around areas of graph databases, graph algorithms, graph languages and graph modeling.
Responsibilities:
• You will grow and lead a team of high-performing engineers and, in the near future, managers
• You will be a role model and coach for engineers with a bias for action and focus on craftsmanship
• You will drive development of all aspects of delivering graph-as-a-platform in Azure
• You will collaborate with teams in Azure to ensure seamless integration
• You will work with senior leadership in developing a long-term roadmap and cohesive vision
• You will drive tactical execution of the team and help coordinate activities such as sprint planning, design reviews, project planning, and providing updates to stakeholders
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience
• 7+ years of industry experience
• 3+ years of software engineering management experience.
• Professional work experience in infrastructure, distributed systems, and/or Big Data software engineering
Preferred Qualifications:
• MS or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline
• 10+ years of relevant work experience
• Experience managing engineering managers
• Experience building distributed systems on Azure
• Demonstrated expertise in building tools and ancillary systems to support operating large scale services
• Proven leader with strengths in infrastructure and storage
• Experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems, highly available multi-tenant services
• Experience designing and architecting, developing, and testing system and infrastructure software
• Operational excellence: A keen understanding of where toil happens in operating large scale systems and a focus to reduce and eliminate that toil
• Ability to collaborate effectively and deeply

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this role is $180,000 to $300,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
