The School of Public Health at Georgia State University invites outstanding applicants for the Director of Academic Effectiveness and Student Success position to begin in spring or summer 2024. This is a non-tenure track, full-time, 12-month faculty appointment at the rank of Academic Professional with opportunities for promotion to the ranks of Senior Academic Professional and Principal Academic Professional.
The Director will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest quality of academic programs and exceptional student outcomes through strategic assessment, continuous improvement, and accreditation processes. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of public health education, a strong commitment to academic excellence and student success, and a track record of successful accreditation efforts.

About the School of Public Health
Located in the heart of Atlanta at one of the America’s most innovative and diverse research universities, the Georgia State University School of Public Health educates practitioners and thought leaders while engaging in research and outreach that promotes health equity and addresses urgent public health challenges. The school’s faculty and staff conduct research that promotes health equity and seeks to solve challenges related to infectious and chronic diseases, tobacco prevention and control, and trauma and mental health, among other areas of expertise. Its centers apply research-based expertise to the needs of children, youth, and families, with areas of emphases that include people with disabilities and refugees.
The school’s location in Atlanta, an internationally recognized hub of public health expertise, gives students practice opportunities at organizations such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, local and state government agencies, and international non-governmental organizations. The school is one of the most diverse schools of public health in the nation. More than 70% of its students are minorities, and many are from countries outside the U.S. The school enrolls the highest percentage of Black/African American public health bachelor’s and master’s students among the more than 60 ASPPH member schools and programs of public health who report this data. Since 2006, the school has hosted more than 95 Fulbright students. The School of Public Health has held continuous CEPH accreditation since 2016 and is accredited through December 31, 2028.
