Summary
Supports engineering projects of medium to large scale capital that have significant impact to the assigned line(s) of business and revenue generation. Projects may include process design, equipment specification and implementation. Provides technical expertise during all phases of project development and production. Applies standard engineering techniques to design, analyze, test, maintain, repair, or improve products, components, or assemblies. Analyzes, develops and evaluates systems. Improves and maintains current systems or creates brand new projects. Works cross functionally on projects advising teams on technical items and using technical knowledge to influence decisions.
Essential Functions

Participates in department and interdepartmental planning and management teams and works cross-functionally to improve processes within the organization.
Analyzes data to determine feasibility of product proposal.
Reviews project proposal or plans to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.
Responsible for managing assigned project assignments to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
Designs and drafts blueprints.
Confers with manufacturing and other engineers to clarify and resolve problems; prepares design modifications, as appropriate.
Prepares status reports and modifies schedules or plans as required.
Prepares product or system layout and detailed drawings and schematics.
Analyzes test data and reports to determine if design meets function and performance specifications.
Evaluates engineering test results for possible application to development of systems or other uses.
Acts as a liaison with other departments, divisions, and organizations.
Identifies and obtains team capabilities needed to accomplish project objectives.
Balances planning efforts with day-to-day demands.
Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.
Must maintain satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate.
Bachelor of Science in Engineering plus 5 years of experience in Engineering of manufacturing processes; OR 9 years experience in Engineering of manufacturing processes.
Experience managing projects as the Project Engineer for cross functional teams.
Ability to read and understand a process flow diagram.
Exposure to OSHA requirements.
Has experience with both 2D and parametric modeling CAD software.
Ability to read, analyze, and design mechanical drawings.
Strong communications and presentation skills, both oral and written.
Proficient level experience with MS Excel, MS Word,
Demonstrated ability to be flexible/adaptable in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment.
Required to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
7 years experience in Project Engineering in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with machine design.
Experience with Tool and Die design is strongly desired.
Experience with CAD & CAE software, preferably AutoCAD and Inventor.
Experience defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
Experience interpreting an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Exposure to aluminum closure manufacturing.
Experience working with cross functional teams and driving projects to completion.
Exposure to sanitary designs used in the beverage industry.
Experience effectively presenting information to management.
