SBA Generalist
Summary
The SBA Generalist reports to the SBA Post Closing Manager. The position provides administrative
support for SBA loan origination and closing processes, as well as certain post-closing processes.
While there are administrative and support aspects to the position, there is also significant autonomy to
the position. Primary duties will vary depending on whether the SBA Generalist is expected to focus
primarily on supporting the loan origination function, or they are expected to focus on closing and post-
closing activities.

* SBA Experience preferred
* Proficiency in common software applications
* Strong verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills
* Ability to compose grammatically correct correspondence
* Ability to prepare professional looking / functional reports
* Professional appearance and demeanor
* Ability to complete detailed work
* Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Functions
* Review approved credit application packages to ensure proper collateral positions
* Assist with loan servicing actions and ensure compliance with SBA loan program requirements
* Interface with SBA as necessary throughout the life of the loan to ensure that our guaranty
remains in effect
* Work with Loan Operations to ensure accuracy of the SBA 1502 Report
* Ensure proper reporting of loan statuses to SBA’s fiscal transfer agent
* Create SBA loan files in accordance with departmental standards and ensure that files are
properly imaged
* Assist clients with problem resolution by researching billing statements and internal reports
* Review loan packages for accuracy prior to transmittal to loan operations for booking
* Clear collateral and insurance exceptions with customers and closing attorneys
* Ensure that the imaging system remains current by forwarding all new information for scanning
* Coordinate loan application documentation to ensure a smooth and compliant loan process
* Establish, maintain, and ensure accuracy of SBA loan files
* Participate in externally sponsored training sessions to ensure necessary product knowledge is
attained/maintained
* Obtain tax transcripts from the IRS to confirm accuracy of tax returns provided by customers
* Provide customers with checklists and necessary forms
* Review SBA and bank-required forms with customers to ensure their accuracy
* Coordinate interaction among customers, closers, and construction draw managers
* Collect prequalification information for potential loan applications
* Construction draw monitoring
* SBA Loan Sales
Education
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Banking experience is a strong preference
* Stable job history
