The Quality Group Leader will supervise and provide technical leadership to the personnel and activities of the QC Laboratory based in Hopewell. The QC Laboratory supports the testing requirements necessary for the manufacture of polyether, silicones, and betaines for both Evonik and Kensing plants in Hopewell. Additionally, the QC group provides support to our external warehouse and PTIS for all raw materials, product transfer and R&D project works. The QC Laboratory ensures the successful development and commercialization of silicone products by working closely with the quality assurance, EHS, PTIS, engineering, and manufacturing teams.
The Quality Group Leader is responsible for effective implementation of quality assurance and quality control policies, procedures, training, work practices, and controls for the Evonik Hopewell Site. Other responsibilities include regulatory documentation, reviewing analytical work, instrument maintenance, monitoring the work and performance of personnel, inventory management, and scheduling.
Other responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Supervise and support shift lab technicians and lab coordinator
• Identify and implement quality standards and voluntary industry programs (e.g., ISO 9001), as well as any additional Evonik requirements as related to quality, including complaint management
• Act as primary contact for all QC aspects, e.g., non-conformances, out of specs (OOS) and suspect product, round robins with other labs, testing for new product introductions, and testing during troubleshooting
• Maintain and continuously improve laboratory procedures and workflows to ensure effective QC services for Production and customers
