Position Summary:
Responsible for supporting a wide variety of functions to deliver on the talent, engagement, and business goals of the company. The primary focus is on actively sourcing, screening and hiring CDL A and CDL B professional Drivers, and completing all associated on-boarding activities. These are high-volume and highly competitive positions and require robust recruitment strategies and continual out-of-the-box thinking.
Responsibilities/Duties:
Recruit and perform talent acquisition activities such as active sourcing, resume and phone screens, candidate interviews, and final hiring decision for qualified candidates.
Primary day-to-day operational contact for Drivers in the south region. Build and maintain positive relationships with Drivers to support and coach as needed.
Actively source for new Drivers using all forms of online tools and strategies.
Place and update all job postings in various Medias including internet/intranet sites, social networks, community boards and staffing partners.
Continuously develop networks/partnerships to actively build database/pipeline of candidates.
Arrange pre-employment testing, background and references screenings.
Complete all required company and DOT on-boarding activities for new Drivers.
Ensure compliance with DOT and other federal and state regulations.
Ensure that all Drivers comply with company operating procedures and safety practices.
Implement policies and standards, including safety procedures for the safe handling of hazardous goods and onboard technology.
Additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Associates degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two or more years experience in transportation, petroleum industry preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of various recruiting techniques, and experience in online/social media recruiting.
Must possess excellent oral/written communication, marketing, presentation, interviewing and interpersonal skills.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), internet, and social media platforms.
Self-starter with excellent time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills.
Knowledge of employment law.
Knowledge of DOT and environmental regulations.
Some overnight travel may be occasionally required.
