The position includes numerous robust benefits in addition to being a valued member of our team. Our team staffs 5 diverse Emergency Departments and 2 Urgent Care’s in the greater Milwaukee area.

Emergency Department Physician Assistant Clinician Responsibilities

• Independently initiates patient evaluations and discusses care plans with on-site Emergency Physicians consistent with group staffing policies
• Examines patients, takes medical history, records results, and makes preliminary diagnosis or decides on follow-up procedures
• Administers and orders diagnostic tests such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and blood work, and interprets test results
• Performs therapeutic procedures such as immunizations, injections, suturing and wound care, and managing infection
• Exercises professional judgment regarding consultation with supervising physicians concerning appropriate treatment
• Develops and implements patient care plans, instructs and counsels patients, and records progress
• Prescribes medications to the extent allowable by state guidelines and clinic regulations
• Provides general health education regarding matters such as proper diet, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance
• Supports physician with emergency treatments and more complex procedures

Qualifications

• Physician Assistant Degree from an accredited program 
• Physician Assistant licensure in the State of Wisconsin
• Previous ED experience
• PALS, BLS, ACLS, and ATLS certifications
• A COVID-19 vaccination unless appropriate exemption is provided
• A current DEA license
• Deep knowledge of current medical practices, procedures, and equipment
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work and think quickly in a high-stress environment
• Flexibility to work at a number of hospitals and urgent care facilities in the Milwaukee market
