YKHC serves 58 federally-recognized Tribes and operates 41 Village Clinics. Our five larger communities are served by five Sub-Regional Clinics. All communities in our service area are served by the 55 bed regional hospital in Bethel.

With Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation in Bethel, Alaska, you’ll serve the over 50 rural communities in the Yukon Delta Region who come to us for care. Serving the people of Southwestern Alaska, the Yukon-Kuskokwim Hospital is a 50-bed general acute care medical facility. Fully accredited by The Joint Commission, services include adult med/surg, pediatrics, obstetrics, emergency room, as well as outpatient family medicine clinics, pharmacy, lab, and imaging.
Directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the Human Resources function. Supervises a staff of approximately 25 in all areas of HR including; Compensation, Benefits, HRIS, Training and Development, Employee Relations, Workforce Planning and Employee File and Recruiting. Communicates regularly with supervisor about Department issues and emonstrates flexible and efficient time management and ability to prioritize workload. Annually reviews and makes recommendations to Executive Management for improvement of YKHC’s policies, procedures, and practices on personnel matters. Ensures that the HR Department is in compliance with Joint Commission standards and supports those of the organization. Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures YKHC’s compliance. Responsible for YKHC compliance with appropriate Federal and State legislation pertaining to all personnel matters. Communicates changes in YKHC personnel policies and procedures and ensure proper compliance is followed. Leads the focus on benefits planning and design, benefits communications and open-enrollment every year. Leads the administration of all benefit programs including: Health and Welfare, Retirement Plans, Unemployment Compensation filing, etc. Works closely with outside vendors that include: legal counsel, HR peers-especially through the Alaska Native Tribal Health Care Consortium, vendors-especially those related to benefit and compensation programs. Assists executive management in the annual review, preparation and administration of YKHC wage and salary program. Works directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters. Recommends, evaluates, and participates in Staff Development for YKHC. Develops and maintains a Human Resources Information System that meets YKHC personnel information needs. Ensures that all new employee and updated information for existing employees is entered, in a timely manner, into the HRIS. Participates on committees, and special projects, and seeks additional responsibilities.
