Position Summary:
The Application Engineer – Automotive is responsible for supporting the booking, revenue growth and success of the ZEISS powertrain product line, with a focus on Ford, by efficiently providing application solutions, pre and post-sales customer support and training. The AE will work with both the end customers and sales personnel to train and solve applications. The AE must become the ROTOS subject matter expert and as such is technically responsible for supporting customers on how to implement the sensor on new and upgraded Zeiss equipment.
To be the subject matter expert, the AE will have tight connecting points to the broad ZEISS Metrology organization and global automotive application community. The AE is responsible for sharing knowledge, upskilling sales in the field of Rotos for automotive applications.
Experience and
Education Requirements:
• 5+ years working in Metrology/Automotive sector / company
• A four-year degree in Engineering, Math or Physics
• Ability to read engineering drawings for dimensional control requirements.
• Strong computer skills and affinity for computer aided data analysis products.
• Must have strong problem-solving skills with the ability to learn independently to find solutions to potential customer’s problems.
• Good verbal and written communication skills with an ability to create concise technical reports.
• Ability to reason and negotiate complex problems with customers.
