What You Would Do
The Body Shop Technician is responsible for performing accurate repairs and straightening of vehicle frames on all makes and models of automobiles. Restoring damaged vehicles to pre-accident condition and following the written repair ational excellence processes are a big part of this position. The Body Shop Technician plays a key role in delivering on the companies promise of speed, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Duties
Approaches repair planning with a sense of urgency and detail to avoid waste and rework later in the process.
Performs quality repairs without passing on defects.
Meets or exceeds company requirements for productivity as measured by hours per day for each repair order.
Utilizes the technical information sheet attached to the work ctural repairs, replacement, airbag, and mechanical work.
Fit and weld replacement parts into place, using wrenches and welding equipment, and grind paper to protect them from the paint.
De-trims and disassembles vehicles, putting parts on parts carts.
Performs pre-pulls to make repair vs. replace decisions.
Assists in identifying and sourcing parts as necessary.
Assist with maintaining parts/materials carts in an organized manner.
Is an active and prepared participant in morning meetings.
Must be able to provide the status of own vehicles and is open to others feedback on getting and keeping vehicles on schedule for on-time delivery.
Help problem-solve on vehicles assigned to other team members.
Remove damaged sections of vehicles using metal-cutting guns, air grinders and wrenches, and install replacement parts using wrenches or welding equipment.
Chain or clamp frames and sections to alignment machines that use hydraulic pressure to align damaged components.
Follows companies quality control processes and meets the return rate target.
Consistently utilizes all required safety equipment and follows proper repair procedures.
Adheres to all requirements for hazardous waste disposal.
Will provide exceptional customer service.
A continuous focus on safety;
Follow and adhere to all company safety policies, rules, and training.
Will participate in ongoing technical education.
Participates in monthly safety meetings and utilizes information on the job.
Keeps personal work area organized and returns tools, materials, and equipment to designated areas.
Education Requirements:
High School Degree or Equivalent;
Auto Body Vo-Tech certified preferred; ASE certification desirable
Experience:
3-5 years automotive body technician experience required.
Work Hours:
Regular work hours are 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Employee hours vary and are dependent on business needs.
Work Week:
The position is 40+ hours per week, Monday through Friday, with evening and weekends as needed to satisfy the requirements of the position.
Commissions-Exempt Wage: $23.00 $ 28.00 DOE
