Wellness and Personal Training Coordinator Job Description The Oshkosh YMCA 20th Avenue is a 160,000 square foot facility that includes an indoor ice arena, indoor soccer arena, double gymnasium with track, childcare, health and wellness center, multiple group exercise studios and multi-purpose rooms. The aquatics facility includes a zero-depth entry family pool with a water slide and 8 lane lap pool. This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Wellness and Personal Training Coordinator at the Oshkosh Community YMCA intentionally fosters a cause-centered culture that is welcoming, genuine, hopeful, nurturing, and determined while also managing safe, high-quality, member-focused aquatics programs. The ideal candidate is highly motivated and can provide strong leadership and development. Qualifications 1. Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or equivalent experience in related field. 2. YMCA Leader certification (or equivalent). Candidates without this certification may complete within the first year of employment. 3. One to two years related health and wellness experience preferred. 4. At least one-year personal training experience. 5. Certification in Personal Training (ACE, ACSM, NASM, NSCA) required. 6. Ability to relate & communicate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. 7. Must have strong organizational skills. 8. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Essential Functions 1. Responsible for developing safe, structured, and motivational personal training programs designed to meet clients’ needs. 2. Assist in recruitment and hiring of diverse staff and volunteer teams across multiple dimensions of diversity. Onboards and develops them for success. 3. Assist in leadership of Health and Wellness Center. This includes but not limited to; providing Healthy Living Orientations, assisting to maintain/clean fitness equipment, and promoting personal training. 4. Model relationship-building skills in all interactions. 5. Maintains regular, clear, professional, and concise communication. 6. Assist in management of the department, including developing and monitoring the program budget to meet fiscal objectives; compiling program statistics to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of and participation in programs and assists in maintaining the facilities. 7. Develops & maintains collaborations with internal and external stakeholders to deliver programs and foster new program opportunities. Cause-Driven Leadership Competencies 1.
