Each year our program seeks applicants to fill 25 seasonal positions for the upcoming summer season. Summer work agreements begin sometime between April and May, and end between August and October. All applicants must be at least 21 years of age, have a good driving record, and be able to pass a Department of Transportation physical.
Desired applicants should have achieved or be working towards a degree in Recreation, Sports Management, Physical Education, or another closely related field. Experience implementing recreation activities in an organizational setting is beneficial. Job duties require planning, recruiting, advertising, communicating, interpreting, and accounting. All applicants should be motivated to acquire a breadth of recreational programming experience.
The recreation staff’s ability to expertly plan and schedule activities, and to motivate and inspire park employees directly relates to the level of program participation. With this in mind, we look for individuals excited to plan and lead outings and activities in a professional manner. Those who succeed in our program are those who enjoy the activities we offer – sports, outdoor recreation, and interacting with our diverse employee population.
In return we train you to plan and implement a variety of recreational activities tailored to the population you serve. You’ll work in an environment that encourages constant learning, refining, and evaluation. You’ll gain experience programming a variety of activities in a unique setting. Best of all, you’ll be paid to be involved in a lot of fun activities!
If this sounds like what you’d like to do next summer, apply now! Interns are always welcome. The experience gained in our program has been essential in the career development of many former staff members. All interns are paid.
Your dates of availability are factored very heavily towards your eligibility for any position. Make sure to enter your earliest possible start date and latest possible end date.
