Who will you be helping?
At WGU Advancement, we believe that talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not. Unlike many non-profits, our primary fundraising focus does not focus on operational functions, like building maintenance or facilities. Rather, we fundraise to provide pathways to opportunity – in support learners from all zip codes, backgrounds, and stages of life. Your work will have a direct and measurable impact on the success of our student learners. Additionally, your work will ensure the promise of higher education remains available for all.
Who are you?
You are highly organized and take a project management approach to your work and you may have been a Project Manager in a previous position. You enjoy mapping, documenting, and implementing processes. You are known for your problem-solving skills and are adept at finding practical solutions to obstacles, willing to adjust your plans or change course to achieve the best outcome. You develop trust easily and are highly responsive to inquiries. You understand the importance of collaboration and networking and are proactive in finding the right people and resources to obtain the necessary information or support to deliver outcomes. You’re able to drive action through influence vs. direct authority. You’re excited about helping WGU develop and grow its Advancement function.
How is success measured?
Success is measured by your ability to facilitate and own our pre-and post-award grant function. For pre-award, you will implement processes and protocols that relate to proposal submissions and approvals. For post-award, you will implement and operationalize grant agreements, ultimately helping internal offices deliver grant expectations as set forth by the funder.
