Wayne State University is searching for an
experienced Assistant Professor, Teaching – Educational Partnerships & Experiences at its Detroit campus
location.

Position
Purpose:
The College of Education, Department of Teacher Education is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time non-tenure
track appointment as Assistant Professor of Teaching, Educational Partnerships & Experiences. The job is scheduled to begin no later than
October 1, 2023; salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
Essential functions:
Co-plan and
co-facilitate orientations and seminars for Clinical Instructional Coaches, Mentor Teachers, Teaching Interns and Methods. Serve as
instructor of record for select clinical courses. Participate in or lead the planning and implementation of Capstone Event.
Assist
Director in collecting and monitoring course assessment data and implementing Teacher Education Division’s continuous improvement
plans.
Maintain and update EdP&E core program documents and systems, including LMS pages (Canvas) for courses, background checks,
professionalism and dispositions documents, course syllabi, handbooks, evaluation materials, calendars, listservs, SCECHs, and website
content.
Coordinate clinical placements for all clinical courses. Assist Director in developing new partnerships and sustaining
positive relationships with PK-12 schools and districts.
Liaise with Academic Advisors (including attending monthly meetings) to
support students.
Provide direct support to students, mentor teachers, and clinical instructional coaches (e.g., assist director in
hosting professional development sessions, coordinate the use of digital platforms for coaching and feedback, provide supplementary support
for students in need of assistance).
Qualifications:
Teacher Certification.
Master’s degree or higher
in Education or comparable field.
Successful experience working in urban K-12 schools serving diverse students.
Strong
technology skills.
Excellent time management, organization, detail oriented, and oral and written communication
skills.
Experience with Word, Excel, Qualtrics and other electronic tools.
Successful experience interacting with students,
faculty, and the public.
Excellent interpersonal skills, strong work ethic, and the ability to act effectively as a team
player.
Knowledge of classroom teaching and learning best practices.
Knowledge of teacher certification
requirements.
Preferred qualifications:
Successful experience with instructional
coaching.
